2026 Software Comparison

PT PRO VS HEVY COACH

Hevy Coach is a strong logging app for online strength coaching. It doesn't book sessions, save cards for no-show fees or issue Australian tax invoices. PT Pro does all three, at $29 AUD/mo flat for unlimited clients.

Quick Verdict

PT Pro wins for in-person and hybrid trainers in Australia. You get booking, card-on-file no-show fees, GST invoices and a flat AUD price in one tool. Hevy Coach wins if you coach mostly online and your clients already log in the Hevy app. Different jobs. Pick the one that matches how you earn.

WHERE EACH ONE WINS

There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Here's how to decide.

Where PT Pro wins IN-PERSON

  • Gym-floor booking. Clients book at getptpro.com/t/yourname. Reminders at 24 hours and 1 hour. Hevy Coach has no booking, so you still need Calendly or Google Calendar.
  • No-show fees. Clients save a card at booking. If someone doesn't show, you mark the no-show and tap Charge. Late cancels inside your window are charged after the client confirms. One $85 no-show a week over 48 weeks is $4,080 a year. Pro costs $348 a year. Here's how card-on-file no-show fees work.
  • AU invoicing. Numbered GST tax invoices with your ABN. One-click Xero CSV. More on GST invoices for personal trainers.
  • Flat AUD price. $29 a month, unlimited clients, no USD conversion. The same maths applies against Trainerize: see PT Pro vs Trainerize.

Where Hevy Coach wins

  • Logging. Hevy's set-by-set screen is fast and familiar. If strength is the whole job, it's hard to beat.
  • Reach. Hevy is a consumer workout app with a large user base, so many clients already have it.
  • Online coaching. If you coach mostly online and your clients already log in the Hevy app, Hevy Coach fits that job.

MOVING FROM HEVY COACH

Four steps. Your clients' workout history comes with them.

  1. Add the client in PT Pro with a name and email. Their portal invite goes out straight away.
  2. Ask them to export their workouts from Hevy as a CSV and send it over.
  3. In your dashboard, open Workouts, tap Import from Hevy, choose the file and pick the client.
  4. Check the preview, then tap Import workouts.

The workouts land in that client's history and in their portal. Anything already imported is skipped, so a second upload won't double up.

What doesn't move: your client list, templates and chat history. It's a manual import, not a live sync.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What's the best Hevy Coach alternative for personal trainers in Australia?
It depends how you earn. If you train people in person and want booking, no-show fees and GST invoices in one tool, PT Pro is the alternative built for that. If you coach online and your clients already log in Hevy, stay with Hevy Coach. Weighing up more options? See Trainerize alternatives for Australian PTs.
How much does Hevy Coach cost in AUD?
Hevy Coach prices in USD, not AUD. As at May 2026, per their website, it starts from US$25/mo and is tiered by client count. At A$1.50 per US$1 that entry price is about A$38/mo, and it rises as your roster grows. PT Pro is $29 AUD/mo flat for unlimited clients. Check hevycoach.com for current prices.
Does Hevy Coach take bookings or charge no-show fees?
No, as at May 2026. Hevy Coach has no built-in booking and no card-on-file no-show fees, so you'd run a calendar tool and handle missed-session payments yourself. PT Pro saves the card at booking. You mark the no-show and tap Charge. Check their site in case that's changed.
Can I import a client's Hevy workout history into PT Pro?
Yes. Ask the client to export their workouts from Hevy as a CSV. In PT Pro, open Workouts, tap Import from Hevy, choose the file and pick the client. Sessions, exercises, sets, reps and weights land in their history and portal. Duplicates are skipped. It imports workouts only. You add the client by hand.
Does PT Pro have a native app like Hevy?
Not yet. PT Pro is an installable PWA: clients add it to their home screen from any browser, with no app store download. Native iOS and Android apps are coming soon. Hevy has native apps today, so weigh that if an App Store listing matters to your clients.
Can I try PT Pro today?
