8 REASONS PTS LEAVE TRAINERIZE

Every complaint below comes from Capterra, G2, Trustpilot, or Reddit — not invented. We built PT Pro to fix every single one.

Trainerize complaint #1
No card-on-file no-show charging
Trainerize has no built-in no-show fee. You have to chase clients manually after they ghost a session. The Stripe add-on costs an extra $10 USD/mo — and even then, you're sending manual payment requests, not auto-charging a saved card.

How PT Pro fixes it
Card saved at booking. No-show auto-charged in two taps.
Clients save a card when they book — nothing is charged at that point. If they don't show, you mark the session no-show and the fee charges automatically through Stripe. No invoice. No awkward conversation. One no-show a week at $85 is $4,080 a year. PT Pro costs $348. See how it works.
Trainerize complaint #2
"The headline price is $23/mo. The real price is $100–$200."
Stripe payments is a $10/mo add-on. Advanced nutrition is $20–$45/mo extra. Custom branding is $169 one-off. Reviewers consistently report that a functional solo-PT setup costs $53–$78 USD/mo before any scale — that's $80–$120 AUD at current rates, plus GST.

How PT Pro fixes it
$29 AUD/mo. Everything included. No add-on creep.
Booking, card-on-file no-show fees, session reminders, workout programs, progress tracking, client messaging, and revenue tracking are all in the $29/mo Pro plan. Starter is $19/mo for up to 3 clients. Nothing is paywalled behind an add-on.
Trainerize complaint #3
"It's clunky and slow on mobile — especially on the gym floor"
Across Capterra, G2, and SoftwareAdvice, reviewers describe Trainerize as "clunky," "heavy," and slow to load on mobile. One trainer managing 150+ clients wrote: "an ongoing source of frustration that costs me far more time than it should daily — slow videos, lag on chat, freezes during sessions."
Source: Capterra reviews, 2024–2025
How PT Pro fixes it
Built mobile-first. Works on the gym floor.
PT Pro is a mobile-first PWA — install it to your home screen, open it instantly, log a session in seconds. It doesn't need a full app download or a strong connection to load basic session data. The interface is stripped to what a working PT needs on the floor — not a feature wall designed for online coaches.
Trainerize complaint #4
"Takes a full week just to set up"
Multiple Capterra and G2 reviewers say the first week of configuring Trainerize — programs, automations, payment setup, message templates — is a significant time sink. "It takes a few weeks of diligent use to become competent." One reviewer noted setting up the payment side alone requires a website you may not have.

How PT Pro fixes it
Your booking page is live in under 30 minutes.
The onboarding wizard walks you through: business name, your booking URL (e.g. getptpro.com/book/yourname), session types, and card-on-file setup. You share the link. Clients book. That's it. No website needed, no automation builder, no week-long configuration.
Trainerize complaint #5
Priced in USD — AU trainers cop currency risk and no GST invoicing
Trainerize bills in USD. Australian trainers pay international transaction fees, absorb exchange rate fluctuation, and receive invoices in USD that don't meet ATO GST record-keeping requirements. There's a note in the Trainerize help centre about "Implementation of GST for Australian Customers" — added as an afterthought.

How PT Pro fixes it
AUD by default. GST invoices. Xero export.
PT Pro is AU-built. All pricing is in AUD. Every invoice is GST-compliant out of the box. Revenue reports export to Xero CSV. AEST reminder defaults. You're not an afterthought bolted onto a USD product — this was built for Australian trainers from day one.
Trainerize complaint #6
"Feels like every feature is a new charge"
Reviewers describe opening Trainerize and hitting paywalls on features they assumed were included: "every time I click on a feature, boom — $4.99/mo, $14.99/mo." The '$23/mo' headline becomes $80–$150/mo fast once you turn on nutrition, video, and payments. The base plan is a shell.

How PT Pro fixes it
One price. No feature gates. No gotchas.
PT Pro Pro is $29 AUD/mo. Open any screen — booking, no-show fees, programs, progress tracking, messaging, revenue — and it's there. The only upgrade is Elite ($79/mo) for multi-trainer studios and white-label branding. That's it.
Trainerize complaint #7
No real revenue tracking or payment dashboard
Trainerize has no native revenue dashboard. If you take payments through the Stripe add-on, your revenue data lives in Stripe — not inside Trainerize. You reconcile manually or export. One G2 reviewer put it plainly: "I can see client progress but I have no idea what I'm earning month to month."
Source: G2 reviews; Trainerize pricing page feature list, 2025
How PT Pro fixes it
Revenue dashboard built in. See what you earned this month in one screen.
PT Pro's revenue tracker shows total earned, sessions completed, no-show fees collected, and outstanding payments — all in one screen, in AUD. It's not a Stripe export you have to read. It's a PT-readable summary updated in real time.
Trainerize complaint #8
Built for online coaches, not in-person PTs
Trainerize's own documentation recommends switching to a scheduling-first platform if you primarily run in-person sessions. The product is designed around program delivery, habit tracking, and check-ins for remote clients. If your clients walk into a gym and you're standing next to them, Trainerize's core workflow doesn't match your day.
Source: Trainerize official documentation on studio and in-person training use cases, 2025
How PT Pro fixes it
The only PT app built for in-person first.
PT Pro is designed for the gym floor. Book, show up, log the session, track PRs, get paid — that's the workflow. Online coaching features (programs, messaging, progress tracking) are there too. But the in-person booking and payment flow is the core, not an add-on to an online coaching platform.

BUILT FOR AU PTS, NOT BOLTED ON

Every other PT software was built in the US or UK and adapted for Australia as an afterthought. PT Pro started here.

💵

AUD pricing — no currency risk

All plans are priced in Australian dollars. You know exactly what you're paying each month. No exchange rate surprises, no international transaction fees.

🧾

GST-compliant invoices by default

Every invoice PT Pro generates meets ATO GST record-keeping requirements. Nothing to configure. Audit-ready from day one. Trainerize added a GST note to their help centre as an afterthought — PT Pro started with it built in.

📊

Xero CSV export

Export your revenue data as a Xero-compatible CSV in one click. Hand it to your accountant at tax time. No spreadsheet wrangling required.

🕐

AEST reminder defaults

Session reminders default to AEST time zones. Your 6am clients get the right reminder at the right time — not 3am because the server thinks it's UTC.
